Fairfield American Little League is open to all kids born between September 1, 2011 and August 31, 2020 (Little League ages 5 - 13 years old) that live within the Dwight, Mill Hill, Osborn Hill, Riverfield and Sherman school districts. If your child attends a private school, their eligibility is determined by the public elementary school associated with your street address.

Challenger Program
Little League’s adaptive baseball program for individuals with physical and intellectual challenges
Any individual between the ages of 4 and 18 (or up to 22 years old if they are still enrolled in school) with a physical or intellectual challenge is welcome to participate
Open to players whose families live in Fairfield, Westport, and Bridgeport, Monroe, Trumbull or any surrounding town that might not have a team

Future Stars
Age: 5 year olds
Format: The program begins in late April and runs for 8 weeks every Sunday. For the first four weeks, each team has their own 60 minute instructional program (skills drills, mini-competitions) run by a professional coach. Beginning in about the fifth week, teams practice in pairs for about 90 minutes and end each session with a modified scrimmage. The times for each teams session can be anywhere between 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. and will change each week.

Format: 90 minute practice/game each week on Saturday starting in late April for 8 weeks. Games begin any time between 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Players must use batting tee in games. Each scheduled session is a combination of practice followed by a modified game.

Format: The first season of kid pitch. Teams play one game during the week and one on the weekends. Practice is in April and on occasion during the season when fields are available. Season runs from late March/early April through early June. Games are scheduled to run 6 innings. Although individual game score is kept, there are no "win/loss" records and no playoffs. There are 10 players in the field (pitcher, catcher plus 4 infield and 4 outfield). The umpiring is done by our Player Umpire Program, which features former FALL players who are paid.
Day(s): Games can be scheduled for any day of the week, although Monday and Friday are typically reserved for rainouts. Teams typically play one game during the week and one on the weekends. Weekend games will be on Saturdays.
Game start time: Weekday games begin at 5:30. Weekend games can start anywhere between 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Kids pitch and catch; regular 6 inning games with traditional 9 players in the field; 50/70 field dimensions with leading, pitching from the stretch, advance on a dropped 3rd strike (traditional baseball rules). The umpiring is done by "Patch" (Adult) paid umpire behind the plate plus a paid teenage umpire from our Player Umpire Program on the bases.
