Nico Negron honored with Joey Kulaga Sportsmanship Award

The Joey Kulaga Sportsmanship Award was established in 2016 in Joey's memory and is given annually to a 12 year old player who consistently puts the needs of the league and his team above his own and best demonstrates the ideals of sportsmanship including fairness, civility, honesty, respect, and responsibility. Joey embodied all of these characteristics and more. Joey was a model player and a very talented pitcher and he made a lasting impact on the teammates and coaches he came in contact with throughout his Fairfield American career.

This year, Nico Negron was chosen for the Joey Kulaga Sportsmanship Award. For years, Nico has embodied what Little League is all about. He has played hard every year willing to play wherever his teams needed him on the field and always hustling out there. He continued to work to improve and has always been a great teammate.

Congratulations to Nico and the Negron family.
