Thunder rolls to the AAA Championship

The Thunder stormed past the Emeralds in the bottom of the sixth at Mill Hill to take home the 2021 Fairfield American Little League AAA title. After the AAA playoffs that included numerous nail biters and crazy comebacks, it was only fitting for the season to end with a walk off. The Thunder came into the playoffs as the number two seed. But the fourth seeded Emeralds gave them a run for their money. At the end of two innings, the Emeralds were up 6-0. But the Thunder lived the Fairfield American motto: NEVER. GIVE UP. After chipping away at the Emeralds lead, the Thunder really swung the momentum in their favor when Nico Negron made a spectacular running catch in right field and then doubled the runner off second to end the top of the fifth. Other stars of the game for the Thunder included Mikey Perry and Gavin Vendig who both contributed four RBIs and Finn Roper who’s sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth drove home Declan Prom with the winning run. An amazing end to an incredible season for the AAA Thunder!

Congrats to the Thunder and all their players: Michael Perry, Declan Prom, Evan Guglieri, Finn Roper, Colin Duggan, Nico Negron, Mason Schulz, Grayson North, Graham Rogers and Gavin Vendig along with coaches Hector Negron, Geoff Perry and manager John Prom.
